Training & Travel Details

Welcome to the Compassionate Care in Crisis Training!

    We look forward to meeting you on July 11th at 8am at
    P & G’s Church on York St, Edinburgh for registration check-in.

    Training schedule is Thursday and Friday, July 11 & 12 from 830am to 530pm
    and Saturday, July 13th from 830am to 1200pm.

    Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided each morning and afternoon.

    Traveling to the Training?

     

    Flights:

    Edinburgh International Airport: 30 min from the training location by taxi, bus, and tram.

    Glasgow International Airport: 45 min by rail from Edinburgh City Center.

    Rail:

    Edinburgh Waverly Rail Station: ScotRail and LNER (London Northeastern Railway)

    Accommodation:

    Summer accommodation in Edinburgh books up early and fast. We highly recommend booking your lodging as soon as possible.

    Hotels:
    Premier Inn: 44 York Pl (next door to training venue)

    Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre: Picardy Place (5 min walk)

    University of Edinburgh Summer Lodging: Locations vary- (easy training venue access on foot or public transport)

    Edinburgh Guest Houses and B&B’s: Locations vary

    Food:

    Edinburgh is known for its incredibly diverse and high quality food options. No matter your food preference, there is an option available!

    Edinburgh Street Food: Varied food options with indoor and outdoor seating (5 min walk)

    St James Quarter: Shopping mall with various restaurants and quick meal options on ground and fourth floors (5 min walk)

    Omni Centre: Fast food take-away to sit-down (5 min walk)

    Conan Doyle Pub: traditional Scottish pub serving local fare (2 min walk)

    Momma Roma: Italian (5 min walk)

    Packing:

    Scotland’s diversity of food, landscape, and people is only exceeded by its diversity of weather. Temps in July can range from 13c/55F to 25c/77F with a chance of rain perpetually present.
    We highly recommend packing layers, a raincoat, an umbrella, and comfortable walking shoes.
    Dress code for this training is casual. We want you to be comfortable!
