City center location with Edinburgh Castle views
Built in 1892, this historic hotel is at the heart of the city, 10 minutes from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. It is within an easily walkable distance of Princes Street shopping, the quaint Grassmarket, and Edinburgh Old Town. Take in scenic castle views, enjoy comfortable rooms, a full Scottish breakfast, high speed wifi, 24-hour fitness center and a warm DoubleTree cookie upon arrival.
Finding Lodging:
Edinburgh is a very walkable city with excellent public transportation options, safe taxis, easily accessible Ubers, and extremely limited parking. We highly recommend reserving lodging at the DoubleTree Hotel or in the area surrounding the training location.
Booking.com also has many accomodation options to search -ranging from hotels, to apartments to entire homes.
Arrival & Transportation:
Edinburgh Airport is the closest airport to the training venue and easy to navigate. Taxis can be quickly found by following the signs from baggage claim, are highly regulated, and very safe. Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are accepted and most are contactless (touch to pay). Receipts can be texted or emailed if needed.
Glasgow Airport may be an option for some attendees. While a bit further in distance from the training location, taxis are still easily found and reasonable in cost.
Food & Drink:
There are many, many cafes, pubs, restaurants, markets, and food stands within easy walking distance of the training location. Almost all take payment via contactless credit card. The water in Edinburgh is completely safe to drink directly from the faucet. Lunch, snacks, tea and coffee will be provided at the training location both days.
Activities:
Almost all museums and galleries in Scotland are accessible free of charge.
In Edinburgh, we recommend the National Museum of Scotland, the Writers Museum, the Museum of Edinburgh, the People’s Story Museum, and the Scottish National Gallery.
Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle are can’t miss experiences if you can make the time.
